Week three of the same story.  Enjoy another random bit of the continuing saga between Sadie and Markus.

The Six:

“So,” she said as she climbed out of the car and shrugged into her coat, “what’s the plan?”

Markus came around the car to meet her, carefully watching the trees beyond the parking lot and listening for the tiny sounds of nature beneath the dull roar of the water.  He draped his arm across her shoulders and pulled her into his side as he steered her toward the overlook.  Aside from the water and his own heartbeat echoing in his ears, the world around them was still and silent.

“We play dumb.”

Sadie snorted.  “Easier said than done.”
